TOP DOG works within the community to help generate greater public understanding and sensitivity for people with disabilities. We have performed hundreds of demonstrations for thousands of children and adults in schools, nursing homes, hospitals, and civic organizations throughout the greater Tucson area. Our volunteer-demo-teams demonstrate how service dogs help their owners dress, turn lights on and off, pick up telephones, push or pull wheelchairs, and so much more.
Our informative teaching aid “More Alike than Different,” is used by classroom teachers to help students better understand the challenges people with disabilities face in everyday living. It provides several exercises for the class to explore.
Mary and Blake, with their TOP DOGs, Sedona and Savannah, talk to a classroom of fascinated youngsters.
